Leonkov predicted the direction of the main counterattack by the Ukrainian armed forces

Kyiv must show the West that not everything is lost yet

Kyiv seems to be “broken”. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Donbas is constantly failing. Against this background, there is a certain cooling in the West towards the Ukrainian theme. The supply of arms promised to Kiev has slowed. Experts say that in the current situation, Kyiv needs a serious argument that should prove to the West that it is still able to resist Moscow. For example, a real military “victory”. And Kyiv is actively preparing it to the last. Aleksey Leonkov, a military analyst and editor of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, told MK which direction the UAF could be expected.

Zelensky and his team are really very nervous. The President of Ukraine is openly rude to former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who has suggested that Kyiv accept territorial losses. Arestovich – the main mouthpiece for Kiev propaganda – generally goes to the ground and rejects the peaceful proposals of Western curators. At the same time, Israel banned arms supplies to Kiev, and Germany suddenly recalled its previous decision to block its own arms exports to third countries and did not allow Estonia to send German artillery to Ukraine.

It is clear that under such conditions it is easy for Kyiv, it is vital to show the West that not everything is lost and that the Ukrainian armed forces have the strength to counterattack.

“I think it will most likely be a blow to our Kherson group,” Alexei Leonkov told MK. – NATO AWACS reconnaissance aircraft have recently been recorded in the area over Romania. The RC-135 also flew there. This means that NATO is now helping Ukraine's armed forces to actively monitor the southern flank. This section of the front is very unpleasant for them, as there is a main artery for the supply of Ukrainian armed forces by Western technology (except for routes through Poland), which runs through the territory of Romania. Planes can also fly from there, fuel and lubricants are supplied.

If we take our Kherson group of troops, we crossed the banks of the Dnieper at the very beginning of the operation. The Armed Forces of Ukraine wanted to make the banks of the Dnieper an insurmountable water barrier, a kind of “eastern wall”. But our Kherson group did not allow them. Now there, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are most likely planning to concentrate large forces that will equip them with everything they can and throw them on this suicide campaign.

I am sure that our military leadership is monitoring the situation and guessing plans. Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is clear that Kherson is a bone in the neck for the Kiev authorities. The success we achieved on the southern flank proved to be most significant during the first phase of the special military operation. I'm sure it will be fixed now.
