The British edition of the Daily Express has published material setting out Russia's three probable goals in deciding on the use of nuclear weapons.

The author of the material states that the first target of any nuclear strike by Russia is undoubtedly the United States, because it is the largest nuclear power after the Russian Federation, which has about 5,600 units of such weapons.

The material emphasizes that such a strike against the United States could force NATO countries to abandon actions against Russia. At the same time, he notes that, on the other hand, Moscow will take into account Washington's nuclear power, which may force it to choose a different target for the strike.

The second target in the article is the UNITED KINGDOM. It is this country that is now providing significant military assistance to Ukraine, and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has personally visited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenský. In addition, the United Kingdom is considered one of NATO's key members. However, the attack on the United Kingdom also carries great risks for Moscow.

The third target is one of NATO's 28 member states. This is the opinion of the author of the material.

The material emphasizes that such a strike could force some allies to leave the alliance and others to refuse to join it.
