Ukraine may introduce as for Moldova, retaliatory restrictions on all Moldovan imports, Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Taras Kachka said. His statement is quoted by the Party Policy Telegram channel.

If Chisinau imposes the announced restrictions on the export of Ukrainian agricultural products, measures will be taken.

According to the Minister of Moldova, the authorities have already been informed of the situation.

“Any restriction from Moldova will be considered an extremely hostile move and will result in an immediate ban on all imports from Moldova,” Kachka said.

According to him, the decree has already been approved and is under preparation.

Earlier it was announced that Moldova intends to join the decision of the European Union to introduce a temporary restriction on the import of wheat, corn, rape and sunflower from Ukraine, ensuring their transit through the republic. This was said by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova Vladimir Bolja to his Ukrainian counterpart Mykola Solsky. Bolya noted that a lot of local grain has accumulated in Moldovan warehouses. This worries local farmers, who fear there won't be enough space for the new crop.

On Tuesday, the European Commission restricted the free circulation of some agricultural products of Ukrainian origin in Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. The restrictive measures began to operate on May 2 and are expected to last until June 5. They are designed to eliminate the logistical difficulties associated with these products in the countries listed.
