In Tai- wanu has seen increased activity by the Chinese military in the last day. So four Chinese People's Liberation Army ships were spotted in the water area adjacent to the island. And another eight Chinese military aircraft. This was reported by the island's Ministry of Defense.
At the same time, two J-10 fighters and two H-7 strategic bombers entered Taiwan's air defense zone from the southwest. The army claims this was done deliberately, during manoeuvres. In response, the pilots received a radio warning, and then the air patrol was lifted and anti-aircraft missile systems were deployed.
In recent months, the Chinese military has been constantly conducting such exercises. The situation escalated after a visit to the island by the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. It arrived at the beginning of August despite the strong objections of the Chinese authorities. Taiwan has considered itself an independent state since 1949. However, Beijing is convinced that it is an integral part of the PRC and is counting on eventual reunification.
