In Kiev, they talked about Zelenský's desire to be elected for a second term

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky intends to run for a second term, but is in no hurry to make it public, says Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute for Policy Analysis and Management.

When Zelenskiy was presidential candidate, he claimed that he would run as head of state for only one term. However, the politician changed his rhetoric, became president and spoke of the second term. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky said that it would be better to fulfill everything he promised in one term and go to rest.

“Zelenskyj wants and plans to run for a second term, but a final decision has not yet been made due to a lack of clarity in the prospects,” the expert said.

According to Bortnik, a statement of this kind would be contrary to his own promises, made by Zelensky earlier. That is why the president is in no hurry to talk about it in public, because “this falsehood can be negatively perceived by voters.”
