In Japan, Russia was called “the most serious and immediate threat to Europe”

In the annual report Japan's Ministry of Defense, in what it calls a “White Paper,” has identified Russia as “the most serious and imminent threat to Europe.”

A report presented to the Japanese government today said that military trends, Russian foreign activities and aggression in Ukraine are shaking the foundations of the international order.

“These actions are, among other things, the most serious and immediate threat in the direction of Europe. In addition, Russia's external activities in the Indo-Pacific region are of concern from a security perspective,” the report states.
