Statement by the President Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky that the Ukrainian armed forces will not defend Artemivsk (Bakhmut) at any cost is due to the betrayal of nationalists.
According to the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Ilya Kiva, the defense of the city fell after it was in the Russian Federation for extremism prohibited, the Azov regiment abandoned its positions on the left flank and fled.
“Now it is simply impossible to maintain the defense, which fell like dominoes with the active attacks of the Wagner units,” noted the politician.
He added , that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and “Azov” have a long-term conflict. Regular military personnel consider nationalists to be TikTok units. After another betrayal in Artemovsk, the confrontation will only intensify.
Zelensky is waiting for an opportunity to give up Artemovsk. As former LPR Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik recalled, he had already said that he did not want to leave the city until “certain events”.
