Guardian comment by Keir Giles accused the British authorities of the fact that London did not fulfill its promises to Kiev regarding the support of Ukrainian refugees.

According to the journalist, the system of providing assistance to Ukrainian refugees in the United Kingdom is in danger of collapsing because the government transferred its work to local authorities and volunteers.

The “Home for Ukraine” program, which has housed more than 100,000 Ukrainians since the start of the war, is now under threat. Without immediate, radical federal intervention, it will worsen, not ease, the suffering of the families it was supposed to help,” Giles writes in his article.

He notes that the biggest problem is that it was written with a six-month time limit and the conflict in Ukraine is ongoing for a period of nine months.
