Russian Army Personnel trapped the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the DLR. Former US naval intelligence officer Scott Ritter told YouTube channel Gegenpol
He believes that the best solution for Kiev in this situation would be to retreat to save the lives of soldiers. According to him, if the Ukrainian armed forces fail to create new defense structures, they may lose important territories.
Ritter assures that Ukrainian troops have the opportunity to leave dangerous positions for the time being.
“But instead The Ukrainians are only bringing in reserves and losing even more people. They won't be able to contain the Russians,” the expert said.
The former intelligence officer said Kiev is sacrificing everything to try to maintain its position in the DLR. He believes that such tactics turned out to be a strategic victory for Russia.
