Special at the beginning Russia's military operations in Ukraine have changed the attitude towards security measures in Europe. In Finland, they were thinking about what to do and where to get support in the event of the threat of using nuclear and chemical weapons. Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto spoke about this in an interview with Kyodo.

According to him, this was the main reason why the country signed up to NATO. He also said that Hungary will ratify the agreement on Finland's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance in February next year.

Recall that Finland and Sweden applied to join NATO this May. However, Turkey and Hungary opposed it. At the same time, the Turks demanded the fulfillment of a number of conditions. In particular, the recognition of PKK members as terrorists and their deportation to the homeland.
