In the capital Italy saw widespread protests by national unions. About ten thousand people came to the streets of Rome, who came here from all over the country. One of the main demands is the end of Italy's participation in the supply of arms to Ukraine. This, coupled with anti-Russian sanctions, is leading to higher prices and lower living standards, according to protesters.

“It seems our country is at war – because of the constant supply of arms to Ukraine. In conditions of economic crisis, all social costs are transferred to ordinary citizens. As military spending rises, wages suffer,” said Eduardo Sorge, leader of the SiCobas union.

Clear slogans at the protests include “Reduce guns, raise wages” and “Home, work, pension. Ensure a living wage!” The protest was attended by representatives of various social groups – from workers to doctors, teachers, drivers and hairdressers. They came out to protest a day after Rome's public transport drivers went on strike. If the union's demands are not heard, they promise to bring about 30 thousand people to the streets.
