Let us remind , that yesterday at the press conference Erdogan announced that Ankara is ready to become a mediator in the negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

“From the first day we have always stood for peace, dialogue and diplomacy,” Erdogan said , that Turkey made “great efforts to prevent further bloodshed” and tried not to aggravate the problems and add fuel to the fire.

“We tried to ensure that the two sides met,” he continued, stressing that the conflict takes 1.5 years and “there are no prospects for peace on the horizon.”

Erdogan confirmed that Turkey is still ready to contribute if the parties express their wishes and continue to play the role of mediator in the exchange of prisoners and on the problem of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.

The Turkish leader expressed hope that the conflict will end as soon as possible with a “just and lasting peace based on international law.”
