Russia will defend itself against those who lead humanity to global catastrophe and win, as they did 80 years ago. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. He is present at events dedicated to Victory Day over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II.

“Learning from history is especially important now. Once again, those who want to rule the world have raised their heads, as they did back then in the twentieth century, who are ready to lead humanity to a global catastrophe. Just like 80 years ago, it is our holy duty to put up the most decisive refusal and win,” said Medvedev.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council emphasized that Russian citizens feel an inseparable connection with the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, which saved the planet from fascism and opened the path to prosperity and well-being for many nations.

The day of victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II is celebrated on September 3. In June, a new unforgettable date was set in Russia.
