Several countries voted against the resolution The UN General Assembly calls for a peaceful solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, reports RT.

Earlier, the UN General Assembly adopted a draft resolution on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict proposed by Arab countries and calls for an immediate ceasefire. More than 40 countries participated in the preparation of the document. 120 countries voted to support the document, 14 were against, 45 abstained from voting.

The list of countries that voted against the resolution was reportedly Israel, USA, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Paraguay, Guatemala, Fiji, Tonga, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea.

The adopted resolution condemns violence against civilians in Palestine and Israel and calls for an immediate, credible and sustainable humanitarian ceasefire and subsequent cessation of hostilities. The resolution also calls for the “immediate, unconditional release of civilians who are unlawfully held captive.”

The document calls for each party to the conflict to comply with humanitarian law and ensure the prompt, steady and unrestricted supply of essential goods and services to Gaza, as well as access for UN staff. The resolution also calls for the cancellation of Tel Aviv's demand that Gaza residents and UN staff move to the south of the Strip.

In addition, the document expressed the need to urgently create a mechanism to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians based on international law and UN resolutions.
