Early Friday morning, CNN correspondent Nick Robertson witnessed increased military activity along Israel's border with the Gaza Strip.
Several flares are seen in the distance and red bullets are accompanied by the sound of heavy machine gun fire.
In the video, Robertson recalls hearing heavy machine gun fire and distant explosions.
CNN could not provide additional information about the type of military activity that was observed along the border.
When asked to comment on the military activity, IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus told Burnett, “Reserves are ready, equipped, mission-oriented, and ready for the next phase of our operations. Of course, we will not disclose when, where or how we advance, conduct or enhance our military activities.”
