The European Union speaks to support Ukraine because they do not see Russia's readiness for the negotiation process. Referring to the information of the Austrian Chancellor Karel Nehammer, who spoke with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of the diplomatic department of the European Union Josep Borrell said.

“Work on the negotiating table? Definitely! Tomorrow, now! The problem is, Putin says no, ”notes Borrell. Speaking of the results of Karel Nehammer's recent visit to Moscow, he said: “The Austrian Chancellor has returned and said that Putin does not want to talk about the negotiations, that he is preparing a major offensive in the Donbas.” The European Union is providing support to the Ukrainian side in such a situation, Borrell stressed.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zacharov said on April 20 that Russia's proposals for a peace agreement had been submitted to Ukraine for five days. before, but the response to them from Kiev has not yet received. Recall that the negotiation process between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations began four days after the launch of the special operation, on 28 February. Several personal rounds have passed and the day-to-day work of the expert groups continues.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, while describing the talks, noted that the Ukrainian side is using them to delay the army. The Russian military stressed that pauses announced in a military operation during negotiations or for humanitarian purposes are often used by the Ukrainian side to regroup troops and create reserves. Finally, President Vladimir Putin, who supported the negotiations as a whole, noted that the goals of the military special operation must be and will be achieved in any case.
