Bloomberg, linking for its own sources stated that the European Union is considering a German proposal to ban EU citizens from holding senior positions in state-owned enterprises in Russia.
It is specified that if representatives of the European Commission officially present this proposal and EU countries approve it, then the ban may also apply to the former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
Recall that Schroeder is currently the head of the board of directors of Nord Stream 2 AG and the shareholder committee of Nord Stream AG.
German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung previously reported that Germany has sent an official letter to EU countries urging them to ban EU citizens from holding senior positions in Russian state-owned companies.
