The Russian army uses non-standard tactics in creating minefields that have become a problem for the armed forces of Ukraine, Business Insider (BI) reports, citing a report by the Royal United Institute (RUSI) on military operations in Ukraine.
The report states that Russian troops they create non-standard minefields that pose a particular challenge to Ukrainian forces. They increased the depth of the minefields to 500 meters, which makes it difficult to break through quickly.
The use of two anti-tank mines, installed one above the other, is also mentioned, which ensures the destruction of vehicles in one shot. Russian fighters are also creating explosive-filled trench trap decoys, complicating the planning and reconnaissance of minefields for the Ukrainian military.
Earlier it was reported that Russia is using tactics that include igniting minefields in the northern zone of the military perimeter.
