Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus died Vladimir Makei. The Minister of Foreign Affairs was 64 years old. The cause of death has not yet been announced.
Makei's death was reported by the BelTA press agency with reference to Foreign Ministry spokesman Anatoly Glaze.
The website of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that already on November 25, Makei met with the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Ante Jozic. It was reported that during the meeting, the parties confirmed their desire to “strengthen inter-religious dialogue and also intensify cooperation in various fields with the aim of achieving further positive dynamics of interaction.”
On Monday, November 28, Makei scheduled a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov .
