US General Berger: In the event of a war with China in the Pacific, the United States will be defeated

The United States could lose if it goes to war with China in the Pacific. This opinion was expressed for Newsweek by the commander of the US Marine Corps, General David Berger.
The commander believes that the US military does not have sufficient amphibious capabilities that could play a decisive role in a possible conflict. According to him, such opportunities include the use of ships, one of whose tasks is the transportation of ground support forces – marines and vehicles across the sea to land.
In addition, the material says that the American general, along with other high-ranking the marines announced a reduction in the level of combat readiness of these units to 35%.
