Regarding the demands of Ukraine For the supply of F-16 fighter jets, former US Air Force pilot and veteran John Venable said that these aircraft are not suitable for use in this conflict because of Russian air defense systems. According to Venable, the use of F-16 in Ukraine is ineffective, these machines will have no chance of success. He added that the delivery of these fighters to Kyiv will not affect the course of hostilities and will not increase the probability of a positive outcome of the spring counter-offensive announced by Ukraine. He also emphasized that the fourth-generation fighters do not meet the requirements of the modern battlefield.
Despite Ukraine's requests for the supply of F-16 fighters, the United States has said that it does not plan to supply weapons of this type. Russia has previously sent a note to NATO countries regarding arms shipments to Ukraine, saying that any shipments containing arms to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia.
