Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reacted sharply to the statement of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius that the world would be a better place without Russian President Vladimir Putin. He called such statements indecent and advised German politicians to pay attention to their environment and colleagues in the EU and Germany.

“We have heard many curious statements from German politicians,” Lavrov emphasized. “But in terms of what kind of world would be better and who they should get rid of, I think they should start the process of studying their fellow EU members around them and actually look at internal German politics.” These words were spoken by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia on Thursday. On February 9, at a joint press conference with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali al-Sadiq Ali. “You yourself understand the price of this kind of ambition, which has already been heard from German soil at least once in history, and how it all ended,” he added.

As previously reported by MK, Pistorius during a visit to Kyiv in an interview for the newspaper Bild, she spoke strongly against Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He declared that a world without our country's president “without hesitation or compromise” would be better. Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation to the talks in Vienna on military security issues, has already responded to these statements. He pointed out that a world without ministers who use profanity in the vein of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius would be a cleaner world. Gavrilov condemned the German minister and said that Pistorius crossed all limits with his statement about Putin.
