A Kyiv taxi driver fired for speaking Russian has thanked people for their support

Taxi driver from Kyiv , who was fired after refusing to speak to passengers in Ukrainian, thanked people for their support. This was reported by the Ukrainian media.

“Thank you very much to all the caring people who responded to this incident. Also for the courage of those who wrote their comments under the posts of haters and provocateurs,” said the taxi driver.

He himself noted that he is not hiding anywhere and continues to live in his house. The man recorded a video message in Ukrainian, but at the end he said a sentence in Russian: “Thanks to all of you guys. Thank you.”

The situation occurred on October 26. Women traveling in the taxi were outraged that the driver refused to switch to the Ukrainian language. After a verbal exchange, the man asked the passengers to get out of the car. Later, the company where the taxi driver worked suspended him from his job.
