The United States has some operational information that Russia plans to conduct a military operation in eastern Ukraine under a false flag. She told CNN, citing an anonymous source in the US administration.
According to a CNN official, Russia has trained military personnel for combat operations in urban areas. The military invasion of Ukraine, the source said, could take place between mid-January and mid-February 2022. Moscow reportedly uses the same system that was used in Crimea in spring 2014.
The United States believes that the Russian invasion Ukraine will be accompanied by massive war crimes and human rights violations. The source also noted that Russia has launched an information campaign against Ukraine: information on the deteriorating human rights situation in Ukraine is spreading on social networks. Reportedly, anti-Ukrainian contributions increased by 200% compared to November 2021, reaching 3,500 contributions per day.
