President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is ready to hold a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin only if he raises the issue of territories that are considered occupied in Kiev.

As the press secretary of Ukrainian leader Sergei Nikiforov said, Zelensky can meet Putin anytime and anywhere in neutral territory. It can also happen on the contact line. However, this will certainly not happen in either Russia or Ukraine.

Nikiforov claims that Moscow is against such a meeting because it does not intend to include the “Crimean problem” on the agenda of this meeting. “Then why are you meeting? – asked Nikiforov on the TV channel “Dom”.

Vladimir Zelensky had previously said that his last meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin was rather “declarative” and noted that he would like to meet Putin more “materially” … He also spoke of the “abyss” separating Ukrainians and Russians, but did not rule out that relations between the two countries may normalize over time.
