Pope Francis' words about Chechens and Buryats are a blatant perversion. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
According to Zakharova, the Pope unfairly called the Chechens and Buryats “the most brutal part of the Russian troops” in the process of a special military operation in Ukraine. According to Zakharova, these words are no longer Russophobia, but perversion.
Zakharova recalled that in the 90s and 20th centuries, Russians were accused of mocking Caucasian peoples. Now the situation has changed.
