Representatives of Ukraine, Poland, The United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and some other countries have prepared a joint statement submitted to the UN. As a reason, Russia has announced that an informal meeting of the Arria Formula's Security Council has been held on the issue of violations of the rights of national minorities in Ukraine and the Baltic countries.
The authors of the statement claim that a possible military aggression by Russia against Ukraine will have “far-reaching consequences” and will result in a “hard price”. The text also says that the “Arria formula” is planned “against the background of the building of Russian forces on the Crimean peninsula and near the borders of Ukraine”.
