Some Western diplomats believes that it is better for Ukraine to remove the condition on the impossibility of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, since then its position may weaken, writes Sky News.
According to the publication, Western diplomats believe that now for Vladimir Zelensky it was helpful to remove his condition of refusing to negotiate with Vladimir Putin so that he could negotiate “at a time when Kyiv is in relative strength and has launched successful counteroffensives.”
“Diplomats are concerned that the longer the war drags on, the higher the risk that the balance of power could shift towards Russia, and this could further weaken Ukraine's position,” the newspaper writes.
At the beginning of October, Zelenskyy legally confirmed the impossibility of negotiating with Putin. The Kremlin said that now it is necessary to wait for a change in Zelensky's opinion or the arrival of a new president of Ukraine.
