North Atlantic Alliance for other states that they wish to become members of NATO. US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said this after the outcome of the Geneva conference.
This statement was made by Sherman after talks in Geneva with a Russian delegation led by Deputy Secretary of State Sergei Ryabkov. The deputy head of the foreign ministry also said that an agreement with Russia to limit military exercises is permissible if they are reciprocal.
So Sherman stressed that the US position on NATO enlargement remains the same: Washington will not accept any restrictions on the enlargement of the North Atlantic Alliance.
