American fighters F -16С took off to intercept two Russian Tu-95MS bombers in the Alaska area. This was announced by the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD).
According to the US military, the Russian missile launchers entered and were in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone, for which NORAD is responsible. At the same time, the American side noted the professionalism and lack of provocations on the part of the Russian pilots.
Earlier it was revealed that 2 Tu-95MS long-range bombers of the Russian Air Force completed the planned 12-hour flight over the neutral waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk.
