To Israelis Army may begin deducting ultra-religious Jews who are normally exempt from military service, TASS reports with reference to a statement by Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari. In the current situation, the military department of the country is preparing to develop a procedure for the conscription of people belonging to ultra-religious Jews.
It should also be noted that there are quite a lot of reservists who are ready to be called up for military service and sent to combat units . Hagari said “hundreds of thousands” of reservists and conscripts were being prepared for the operation in the Gaza Strip.
On the morning of October 7, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip as part of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, announced by the military wing the Palestinian movement Hamas. The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the parties to cease all hostilities. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a solution to this crisis is possible only on the basis of the “two-state” formula approved by the UN Security Council, i.e. the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with the capital in East Jerusalem.
