White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, speaking she told reporters that Washington is ready to use all means, including sanctions, to prevent the arrest of US citizens in other countries.
The administration of US President Joe Biden, she said, has already expanded the tools that the government can use to solve the problem of arresting Americans in abroad.
“This toolkit includes the ability to create serious costs and consequences, such as sanctions and visa restrictions, for governments and non-state actors involved in hostage-taking and unjust detention,” said Karine Jean-Pierre.
