According to the Agency for International development of the United States, the US authorities intend to provide an additional 4.5 billion USD in direct budget support to the government of Ukraine.
It is reported that the payment will be made through USAID in coordination with the US Department of the Treasury.
This financial support should help Ukrainian authorities ease a severe budget deficit
“The Ukrainian government will receive funds in tranches, starting with a $3 billion payment in August… This will allow the Ukrainian government to carry out key functions, deliver humanitarian aid, to continue paying salaries to civil servants, doctors and teachers,” USAID said.
