South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said at a meeting of the African delegation with Russian President Vladimir Putin that members of the African delegation are convinced that “the time has come for both sides to start negotiations and end this war.”

Ramaphosa noted that the Ukrainian conflict brings instability and damage to various countries around the world.
He added that one of the points of the African proposal is to mitigate the escalation of the conflict on both sides, as it does not contribute to peace negotiations.
