Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili criticized the authorities for resuming even direct flights to and from Russia at the Independence Day celebrations in Tbilisi on Friday. the fact that legal restrictions have not yet been introduced for Russians who have traveled to the country.

The Georgian leader emphasized that the independence celebrated on this day means the protection of citizens and statehood means that the country is governed by rules and laws and this approach of the state should be extended to all. Zurabishvili expressed misunderstanding why measures and legal regulations have not yet been introduced for the Russians who have arrived en masse in Georgia and in connection with their activities, especially in the health and education sectors.

The country's president pointed out that Georgia's foreign policy has become incomprehensible and is increasingly isolated from the European perspective, specifying that the country's leadership resorts to criticism of Western partners and cares about Russia. According to Zurabishvili, “it is a shame and incomprehensible” when one calculates how many millions will be brought to Georgia in the form of plane tickets to the Russian Federation. She wondered if the country's dignity was “sold” for 200 or 300 million.
