Responsibility for sabotage took over the “Islamic State” on the gas pipeline in Syria (the organization is recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation and is banned). The local media informs about it with reference to the statement of the group leaders.
On Friday, Syrian Energy Minister Gassan Zamel said the reason for the power outage in Damascus was damage to a gas pipeline in the Deir Ali region south of the Syrian capital. According to one Syrian media, in addition to the pipeline failure, there were attempts to undermine two power transmission towers in the Khuran area.
Power has now been restored in Damascus. The relevant department announced the completion of the repair of the Al-Arabi gas pipeline and the resumption of gas supplies.
