General military location Sergey Surovikin was identified by researcher Michael Sheldon from a photograph of him and his wife. He wrote about it on his Twitter page (blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation).
Sheldon claims that judging by the environment — the picture shows the walls of a country house and in the background there are pine trees — Surovikin may have been caught in the parking lot of the Podmoskovnye Evenings restaurant, located in the village of Zhukovka in the Moscow Region. “You can even see the same tree in the background,” — said the researcher, comparing the picture of the Russian general with the frames from Google Maps. Sheldon also pointed out that the picture shows part of the Terazza restaurant, which is located opposite Podmoskovnye Vecherov.
Earlier, MK said that a photo of Surovikin with his wife was published on Monday, September 4 on the Bloody Lady Telegram channel, which owned by the famous journalist and TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak. The caption of the picture noted that the general was “alive, healthy, at home with his family in Moscow”, which immediately caught the attention of subscribers, against the background of earlier rumors of the detention of this high-ranking military man.
Two days later, on September 6, retired Colonel General Viktor Zavarzin announced that Surovikin had been offered “a good position in the CIS”. However, he did not specify what it specifically sounds like. At the moment, the VSK of Russia is headed by the chief of staff instead of Surovikina.
