As stated, the T-14 “Armata” are currently used only for shelling the positions of the armed formation of Ukraine.
“They have not yet participated in direct offensive operations,” said the agency's spokesman.
According to him, at the end of last year, T-14 tank crews underwent combat coordination at the training grounds of one of Russia's new regions. He also noted that these vehicles used in the course of a special military operation received additional side protection against anti-tank ammunition. As for the T-14 main tank, its main feature is an uninhabited turret, three crew members are in an isolated armored capsule located in front of the hull. It is equipped with advanced multi-layer armor, dynamic and active protection systems.
The vehicle's main armament is a 125mm 2A82-1M smoothbore cannon capable of using new cruise missiles with a range of eight kilometers. For the first time in combat conditions, Armata tanks were tested in Syria.
