Russian President Vladimir Putin will traditionally celebrate the New Year in the company of family and friends. According to his spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the Russian leader's Christmas week will be partly in working order.
According to Peskov, the head of state rarely spends this time as a New Year's holiday. Putin will probably rest for the first few days.
However, Putin will not be able to devote all his rest time because he is constantly forced to work with documents and other data. This is particularly important in the context of such an alarming situation in Europe.
Earlier, Putin himself called on citizens to follow the epidemiological recommendations for the fight against coronavirus during the New Year's holidays. In particular, the head of state stressed that the Russians usually forget about preventive measures after the first New Year's toast. As a result, he asked not to do it.
Putin added that New Year's holidays are a special time when you want to meet your loved ones. “But we must listen to the recommendations and follow them if we want us to have a happy future,” Putin said.
