Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov responded to a journalist's inquiry requesting comments on the statement of PMC founder Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin about his intention to leave positions in the city of Bakhmut (Russian name Artemovsk). Prigozhin said earlier that he intended in a few days — May 10 — to transfer the positions to units of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to Peskov, the Kremlin is informed about the announced withdrawal of the PMC from Bakhmut, but has not yet commented on the situation.

The Deputy President of the Russian Federation explained that the statement was left uncommented as it relates to CBO.
