German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock criticized the verdict of the author of the project “Earth for Life” Sergei Tichanovsky, reports Deutsche Welle. The opposition was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Five other people were also sentenced – Dmitry Popov and Andrei Sakov were sentenced to 16 years, Vladimir Tsyganovich and Igor Losik were sentenced to 15 years, and Nikolai Statkevich was sentenced to 14 years. According to Berbock, he noted the “scandalous verdicts” against the Belarusian opposition.
“I want to reiterate our demand for the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners,” the minister said.
