– How we answer them, – explains Igor Korotchenko, – will determine our General Staff. I will only assume that the responsiveness can be improved by Iskander-M complexes. They will be located in geographical locations that our potential adversary will not like very much. These will be places from which we will be able to decide very quickly on the zeroing of threats from the territory of Ukraine and the countries of Eastern Europe. At the same time, we will be able to respond with the help of Russian multi-purpose nuclear submarines of the new generation, which will be equipped with Zircon missiles, which are not available to the US missile defense system. This means that they are able to strike high-precision non-nuclear missiles against decision-making centers in the United States.
According to the expert, we now have a large field for military capabilities. However, a specific decision on this score will be made by the Commander-in-Chief at the suggestion of the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense. Korotchenko also noted that the military response may involve military-political actions. Among them, in particular, did not rule out the creation of a unified defense area of Russia with the Lugano and Donetsk republics.
