“There is no cross on them”

It is clear that while the male population of the “square” is struggling with imaginary Russian aggression, it has also been a “hot affair” for women. The first fire brigade of the nuns was created in Ukraine. This was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Emergency Situations. The fire brigade was a novice of the Holy Trinity Monastery. The report says they will be responsible not only for the security of the monastery, but also for emergencies in nine surrounding villages. The nuns have already developed combat deployments and water supply techniques.
In fact, the idea of creating fire brigades on the territory of monasteries is far from new. In 2000, the first brigade of volunteer firefighters from the clergy was established in Russia in an Orthodox monastery near Kazan. True, it was made up exclusively of men. In 2014, the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation considered the possibility of creating special fire brigades, which would include monks and lay volunteers.
The first such formation was recruited from among the nuns of the monastery in Diviva. A similar unit was created on the basis of the clergy of the male monastery in Solovky. But only the territory of the monastery was designated as a zone of responsibility for them.
The women's fire brigade will be able to effectively fight real village fires, said MK Ilya Dorogin, a fire safety expert.
– The first thing I would like to focus on is the volunteer team, which means that, according to generally accepted rules, they are not allowed to work in an environment unsuitable for breathing using breathing apparatus. Simply put, he will not enter the burning shack. And if so, they are unlikely to come out. They can only put the highway out of the car and extinguish it from the street. And here's the question, what to do when there are people inside who die without help? Nuns won't help here.
Remember that the work of a firefighter is physically demanding even for men. The 20 meter long main hose filled with water weighs about 80 kilograms. Work lines, such as the 51st sleeve, have a capacity of 40 liters. It is not so easy to drag a solid line and the number is not in minutes, but in seconds.
If we are talking about Russia, then we are forbidden to use women's work in dangerous professions. And the profession of firefighter belongs to this number. This is also due to the toxicity of combustion products, which have an extremely negative effect on the female body. And with a lot of physical exertion. Women are prohibited from lifting more than 15 kilograms at a time. Therefore, I very much doubt the effectiveness of the fire brigade of the nuns.
It turns out that we can say that the heads of the Ukrainian equivalent of the Ministry of Emergency Situations simply do not have a cross. And nuns-firefighters would like to see that they do not have a single real fire in the trust area. Otherwise, expect great trouble.
