Ministry Foreign affairs of Armenia summoned the Russian ambassador to the country Sergey Kopyrkin and handed him a note of protest, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.
As reported, the dissatisfaction of the Armenian side was caused by one of the programs broadcast on Channel One October 23rd. In Armenia, they considered it “offensive.”
“Offensive and completely unacceptable statements were made against high officials of the Republic of Armenia…. During the meeting, the ambassador received a corresponding note of protest,” according to the statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
Which particular Channel One program Yerevan did not like and who made the “insulting” statements addressed to high officials of the Republic of Armenia, is not confirmed.
