Three terrorists entered the territory and violated the Tajik-Afghan border Tajikistan and were destroyed by the special services of the republic with active resistance. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.
According to the committee, on the night of August 29-30, 2023, three members of an international terrorist organization illegally crossed the Tajik-Afghan border. in the guarded area adjacent to the village of Kevron in the Darvaz region of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. Their goal was to commit a terrorist act on the territory of Tajikistan before the country's Independence Day. As a result of the anti-terrorist operation, all three terrorists were eliminated.
A special group of the State Committee followed the routes of the terrorists and encircled them on September 5, as a result of which the militants were killed. In the course of operational and investigative measures, it was found that all the terrorists were members of the Jamaat Ansarullah group banned in Russia and were on the wanted list. Criminal proceedings were initiated against them under the articles of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan for illegal participation in armed conflicts on the territory of other states.
In addition to weapons, the terrorists previously transported from Afghanistan and hid in stores a significant amount of weapons, ammunition and explosives, money and means of communication to carry out terrorist acts. They also found notebooks with notes, diagrams and maps, instructions for the use of explosives, and information about crowded places, government buildings, and institutions. Operative and investigative measures are underway.
