Syrian government accused Israel from the assassination of Golan director Midhat Salih. The Syrian news agency SANA informed about it.
According to media reports, the incident took place in the province of Quneitra near the city of Majjal Shams, which is under Israeli control. Salih was elected to the Syrian parliament from a constituency that includes the Golan Heights, a territory controlled by Tel Aviv.
SANA says the Syrian government has strongly condemned the Israeli military's actions. We recall that the issue of ownership of the Golan Heights is a major conflict of interest for Syria and Israel.
