U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel said the U.S. and its allies are taking steps to limit the influence of the Russian private military company Wagner in various parts of the world, including Africa.
Patel emphasized that the Russian PMC is trying to interfere in the internal affairs of some countries and this leads to a destabilizing situation and makes these countries more vulnerable.
He also noted that the United States is working with its allies and partners to counter the influence of the Wagner Group, not only in Africa but also in other parts of the world.
