Political struggles have intensified over arms supplies to Ukraine in Germany. The leaders of the opposition bloc of the CDU/CSU parties intend to submit a draft resolution on the supply of heavy weapons to Kiev to the Bundestag next week, unless Chancellor Scholz decides.
The publication writes that there are plenty of supporters of these supplies even within the ruling coalition. The resolution can therefore win a majority without the Chancellor's opinion.
“In fact, this means a matter of trust for Scholz's majority in the Bundestag,” the authors of the publication explain. The Ukrainian question may therefore lead to Scholz's resignation, the newspaper writes.
