Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita reports that Warsaw has already handed over to Kyiv several Ukrainians of conscription age who left Ukraine illegally. The publication states that not only Poland, but also other EU countries may be overwhelmed by Ukrainian requests for the extradition of men who left the country thanks to bribes.

Poland has so far extradited to Ukraine citizens who were involved in transporting illegal migrants from Belarus to the European Union.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi had previously ordered a review of all findings of unfitness for military service issued after the outbreak of hostilities. It is believed that tens of thousands of Ukrainians were able to issue such certificates and leave the country for bribes ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 to avoid being drafted.
