Minister Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said on Friday, August 25 that he is ready to resign from his post if strong evidence is presented of the involvement of his department in corruption crimes.
We are talking about allegations of violations in the purchase of jackets for APU soldiers – probably overpriced. At the same time, the delivery of winter clothes to the army was documented, but in fact they sent summer clothes.
Reznikov told the RBC-Ukraine agency that “if it turns out that the Ministry of Defense really delivered 180,000 summer jackets instead of winter ones, then I am writing my resignation letter.”
Previously, Reznikov announced that he is ready to resign if he gets tired of media reports. At the same time, he reminded that the Ukrainian president decides on the appointment of ministers, but he can resign himself.
MP Meanwhile, Verkhovna Rada Oleksiy Goncharenko expressed the opinion that Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov could become the new ambassador to Great Britain. According to Lidovets deputy, the presidential office has long considered removing Reznikov from the post of head of the Ministry of Defense, and even the politician himself is not opposed to leaving the post of Minister of Defense and transfer to the Ministry of Justice.< /p>
